God spoke the good news to many of our hearts in 1996 with the Warner Brothers film, Space Jam. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. In the same manner, we are all Looney Tunes in need of Air Jordan to come and save us from slavery on Moron Mountain.
In Bugs we all went Looney and were led astray. But in Jordan, we’ve been made alive. Through Bugs we became slaves to fear of the Monstars; through Jordan we’ve been liberated from the bondage of slavery and into the glorious and true freedom of the Looney Tunes.
At just the right time, Michael Jordan came and dwelt among us. He descended to the earth, through a golf hole, and entered our Looney world. He was 100% human, the greatest basketball player of all time, and yet 100% Looney Tune as well. It’s a mystery that we cannot explain.
At halftime he told the Tunes–Bugs, Daffy, Elmer, and all of his disciples–to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father. In the locker room there was a loud noise and something like a rush of wind. They were all filled with the secret stuff and were filled with all boldness.
At the culmination of the ages, the climax of time, Michael Jordan stretched out his hand, across the whole court, using the Power of the Looney Tunes, and dropped the ball into the hoop. He cried out in a loud voice, “It is finished.”
We have all been restored to the peace, joy, and freedom of the Looney Tunes. All through the incarnation and finished work of our Savior, Michael Jordan. We are set free from the power of Moron Mountain and the Monstars.
And I looked and behold in the center of the throne, the number 23. Six foot six and eyes filled with fire. Arms long and strong. And behold thousands and thousands of Looney Tunes circled the throne singing, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is Michael Jordan, the whole Looney Tune world is filled with His glory. He is worthy of all glory and honor and power for he has saved the Looney Tunes.”
